Update September 15, 2021
Today, the MOH has declared Lacombe Lodge to be in outbreak due to one resident testing positive for COVID-19. Any close contact residents and unvaccinated residents will be isolated to their rooms with meal tray service. Hairdressing services and group activities are suspended. Admissions are on hold and social visiting is suspended – only designated family support persons (maximum 4 per resident) are able to attend the site at this time. Home care is currently scheduling prevalence testing for the site.
Update May 18, 2021
We are pleased to report that after no new positive test results, the Medical Officer of Health has declared the outbreak over.
Update - May 17, 2021
A second round of prevalence testing took place yesterday, Sunday, May 16th, for both residents and staff. At this time, we have not received any test results.
Our hope is that with the continued negative test results for COVID-19, the outbreak won’t be in place for too much longer.
Our next meeting with Alberta Health Services is scheduled for Tuesday, May 18th.
Update - May 14, 2021
After prevalence testing, we have no new positive cases or symptomatic residents or staff. We are waiting on seven resident test results.
A second round of prevalence testing is scheduled for Sunday, May 16th for both residents and staff. Residents are also being monitored twice daily for any symptoms.
ON May 11th, Public Health and Alberta Health Services completed a site visit and noted no concerns.
Our hope is that the outbreak may be declared over by end of next week if we continue to have no new positive cases.
Update - May 11, 2021
An outbreak was declared by Alberta Health Services for Lacombe Lodge effective May 7th after one staff member tested positive for COVID-19.
Six staff members were identified as close contacts and were off work on isolation while undergoing testing. All test results came back negative and four staff members have returned to work.
All residents and staff underwent prevalence testing today on site through Rapid Tests. We will learn more when results are confirmed by Alberta Health Services.
At this time, no residents are considered close contacts. Dining room service and small group activities will continue.
Public Health and Alberta Health Services Infection Prevention & Control will complete a site visit tomorrow.
Our next meeting with Alberta Health Services is tomorrow. We will provide another update afterwards.
