Update June 9, 2021
After our meeting today with Alberta Health Services, we have no new positive or symptomatic cases to report. While we await official word from Alberta Health Services regarding the outbreak ending, we are hopeful it will not be too much longer.<
Once we have more news, we will let everyone know. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
Update June 7, 2021
Our next meeting with Alberta Health Services will be on Wednesday, June 9th. We hope to have more information at that time as to how long outbreak restrictions will be in place.
Update June 2, 2021
After the first round of prevalence testing for staff and residents, we have no new positive results or symptomatic cases. The second round of prevalence testing is scheduled for tomorrow.
Alberta Health Services’ Infection Prevention & Control visited the site this afternoon to conduct an audit. We await the findings and any further guidance that may be needed.
The next meeting with Alberta Health Services will be on Monday, June 7th.
Update June 1, 2021
In consultation with Alberta Health Services, an outbreak was declared for Eckville Manor House effective May 27th.
On May 20th a staff member became symptomatic and received a positive test result on May 21st. Two other staff members were identified as close contacts and received positive test results on May 26th. The three staff members are off work on isolation.
Voluntary prevalence testing for residents and staff took place on May 29th. While we are waiting for all results still those that have been returned came back negative for COVID-19. A second round of prevalence testing is scheduled for June 3rd.
Public Health and Alberta Health Services Infection Prevention & Control will complete a site visit and provide any recommendations on June 2nd.
The next meeting with Alberta Health Services will be on Wednesday, June 2nd.
